As we continue to celebrate this wonderful holiday season, may we keep a few major things in mind:

The Real Reason for the Season

We have probably heard people say it so much that it practically seems like a cliché, but Jesus truly is the reason for the season. Gifts are nice. Holiday get-togethers are warm and inviting. And time off from the hustle and bustle of it all is the icing on the cake. Yet, nothing would be possible were it not for the existence of Jesus Christ, whose entrance into this world blessed us with so much more than could ever be contained in a list, the greatest of which is love. May we always remember this and keep it, and most importantly, Him in the center of our hearts.

The Holiday Season is the Doorstep to New Beginnings

With New Year’s Day fast approaching, we find ourselves on the cusp of a sea of new beginnings – a new year, the coming new season, and, for many of us, personal new beginnings, be they relational, career-centered, or even physical. The main point is that we will all come face to face with new opportunities soon and it’s up to us to decide whether or not we will make the best of them. I encourage us all to take that leap out of our comfort zones and the realm of everyday familiarity that we are holding onto so that we don’t step into the future that is meant for us.

Being wise, careful, and protective of and with the blessings that we receive in life is key. Yet, we are not to allow ourselves to become complacent and settled in situations that enable us to be less than what God created us to be.

So as we face our various new beginnings, it is my hope that we open ourselves up to being lead by wisdom into the great opportunities that await us and that we allow ourselves to enjoy the journey.

There’s No Time that’s Better than the Present

As we contemplate potential future resolutions, let’s evict procrastination from our lives and go ahead and take care of the things that we have been putting off for any length of time, be they large or small, challenging or easy. Instead of waiting to turn that new leaf, why not flip that bad boy over right now? After all, there is no time like the present. And if you think about it, could there be any better gift to give ourselves than that?

Here’s to peace of mind, love, and progress! Merry Christmas to all of you…be blessed! #sanguinemango
